02:39 am - Mysterious Skin

Tony has a deliriously positive review of Mysterious Skin, which is a new film by Gregg Araki that came out this week.

I usually don't post Tony's film reviews unless they are extraordinary, and this one is for two reasons: he names the film the best he has seen so far this year, and he pays special attention on the director's ouevre, stating that he "might be the American Almodovar."

This is the guy.

Here is a short filmography.

  1. CrEEEEps! (2006) (announced)
  2. Mysterious Skin (2004)
  3. This Is How the World Ends (2000) (TV)
  4. Splendor (1999)
  5. Nowhere (1997)
  6. The Doom Generation (1995)
  7. Totally F***ed Up (1993)
  8. The Living End (1992/I)
  9. The Long Weekend (O'Despair) (1989)
  10. Three Bewildered People in the Night (1987)

It is an impressive output.
